About

I’m a Data Science professional with a profound passion for building end-to-end data products. Driven by an insatiable curiosity, my diverse interests span across various topics and disciplines, from software development and project management to cognitive neuroscience and philosophy – reflecting my belief that versatility often leads to a richer understanding.

Educational background
I obtained a Master’s degree in Applied Cognitive Psychology from the University of Padova and the University of Nijmegen as part of the Erasmus program. Subsequently, I pursued a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Trieste. During my doctoral studies, I conducted experimental research, focusing on the intricate relationship between semantic memory and emotion. Leveraging machine learning models on brain activity recordings (EEG) and employing brain stimulation (TMS) in conjunction with custom cognitive tasks, I delved into the fascinating realm of cognitive exploration on humans completing custom cognitive.

Despite my interest in experimental research, I made a deliberate transition from Academia to the private sector post-Ph.D. My motivation stems from the desire to channel my acquired skills into addressing diverse and compelling challenges, not only by writing scientific papers but by joining the front lines. In doing so, I have had the privilege of collaborating with and learning from exceptional teams, contributing to the dynamic landscape of problem-solving in the private sector – in particular in the domain of entrepreneurial finance.

Other interests
I’ve been practicing air rifle shooting for almost 15 years now and, although I’m no not as extremely active anymore, I can still brag about being an Olympic athlete.

I’m also passionate about giving presentations, skill that I had the luck to practice with (for me) the best teachers. If interested, here are a couple of videos, mostly on science stuff.

I also got into playing and recording music in my late teens, and actually never stopped (and never will). Although mostly in my regional Italian dialect, you can hopefully enjoy some of my songs here.
